Frequently Asked Questions

What's this place and why should I care?

Lol yes sis! Straight up – I like your style 😎
Here’s a place for women to feel less alone and more connected through fun and playful fitness – Cook Island and Tahitian style.

What's 'Ura?

‘Ura (pronounced oo-rah) means dance in Cook Island 🇨🇰
To learn more check out the blog

Is this a dance school?

Noooo. You’ll learn how to do the moves so you feel comfortable and self-confident but…

…we’re here for the vibes not the show.

What type of experience do I need?

None. Nuthin’
It usually takes a few sessions to feel comfortable with the moves, and soon you’ll be feeling stronger and more confident in your body – jammin’ down aisle 4 of Woolies. You go girl!

What do I wear?

– ‘Ura Jam: a pareu (sarong) 🌺
– Party HIIT: workout shorts
and a comfortable top

In Cook Island and Tahitian cultures

women are goddesses who can do the most magical thing – create life.
Be proud of your powerful body no matter how you look 💞

Can my niece, daughter or anyone under 18 join?

This program’s designed specifically for adults – with the focus on you, you’ll no longer be the Uber driver waiting for your kid in the carpark, scrolling socials and feeling worse about yourself.

Instead, you’ll be learning new things, making new friends and bustin’ new moves at the family barbie

I'm pregnant, have a medical condition, an injury or another health concern - can I still join?

Possibly sis! Ideally you’ll have sought medical advice/clearance first, but we can chat about it and go from there

How long is the membership?

I offer monthly memberships to develop relationships that make you feel more connected and less lonely. Monthly’s how you go beyond the acquaintance stage with people you actually vibe with, and how you avoid the shallow interactions that leave you feeling drained

I feel nervous even on Zoom with my camera off, is this a safe space for me?

I knowww! oh my gosh it’s so scary especially when you don’t know anyone, or even know how to move your body in this way.
It’s ok 😊
You’re entering a welcoming, warm and loving environment with positive vibes only. No cliques or weirdness.
But it’s not about forced smiles and being happy-go-lucky all the time, it’s about being open, vulnerable yet focused on the good stuff. Connection not perfection.

I wanna join but I'm not an online fitness person.

You might think that we’re ‘only on the computer’ but you know, you’re jammin’ with real people who embrace you – and mean it.

Here’s like hanging out with your most positive best friend who encourages you to keep showing up – without leaving your house. And it’s a chance for you to try something that perhaps you never would in-person.

45 minutes of pure fun and play, and maybe the first time you’ve actually looked forward to working out, will make up for all the lonely years in between.
